friend ship

Maybe we’ll be friends once more

It was fun last time when we laughed and listened

You were someone who really did, like it weren’t a chore

Like I weren’t a bore

It was a friendship that truely glistened

So much so that our ship sailed forth

Into seas on a forbidden course

We danced on the deck

And the boat rocked so much

A whole new ship was christened

We sailed smooth with our mast stood bare

Into the mouth of adolescence

When naivety came along just in time

to say what maturity wouldn’t tell us

The storm appeared from no where

Unprepared we abandoned ship

Take what you can and save yourself

But in doing so we lost our grip

Two solo castaways we drifted

Away to heal from the wreck we made

If you knew of the years to come that we’d lose

would you still climb into the bed we once laid

Next
Next

we are the hands of the clock
